LIFT ASSURANCE AND CONSULTANCY FAQs
A lifting plan is a safety document that should be created before any lifting or slinging work takes place. The lifting plan should include the following details:
- Risk Assessments for all lifting operations, including PPE requirements
- Method statement detailing how the loads are to be lifted with a defined sequence of operations
- Prevention of falls plan – identifies what safety precautions are going to be taken with the lifting operations, including fall arrest systems, work restraints and rescue plans
- Safe working loads – These are defined as a specific safe limit to which the deployed equipment can work to. It is important that lifting operations do not exceed these limits as it can lead to an increased risk of injury/accidents
- Method of lifting – This needs to be detailed in the lifting plan including lifting gear requirements, lifting operation sequence, required personnel and qualifications relevant to the nature of the lift and equipment deployed
All lifting plans will be reviewed and checked by a second qualified AP and passed off before being put into action.
We can provide a qualified Appointed Person and Lifting Operations as and when required on site. This may be a full-time presence or a weekly visit to go through lifting operations on-site. We will also provide fully qualified riggers, slingers and crane supervisors where required, ensuring every lift is fully planned and implemented to the highest industry standards.
Depending on what services you require this will vary, for instance – if you are hiring a Tower Crane Under CPA Hire but require Fortis to Manage the Lifting Operations, then CPA Terms and Conditions will be shared and so will the insurance and liabilities. Please make contact to discuss the bespoke packages we can provide for your project.
We can provide all crane personnel, from a Highly Qualified Appointed Person, Lifting Operations personnel to skilled riggers, slingers, crane supervisors and machine operators. The level of personnel will depend on your project requirements.
